Cap off Helmutfest with a day in the Bavarian Alps! On Saturday, July 18, we head to Brauneck — a beloved peak above Lenggries with sweeping views over the Isarwinkel and the Zugspitze massif.

Getting There

Take the train from München Hbf at 09:02 and arrive in Lenggries just after 10:00. A short bus ride — or a pleasant 25-minute walk — brings you straight to the cable car valley station.

Ride the gondola up to 1600 m, and a short 20-minute stroll takes you to the 1556 m summit — panoramic views guaranteed.

At the Top

Once up there, pick your adventure:

• 🥾 Join the hike — a scenic ridge walk with great views of the Alps (route on Alpenverein Aktiv)
• ☀️ Relax at the summit — soak up the mountain air and the views

Lunch

At 13:30 we gather for lunch at the mountain restaurant — either the cosy Gipfelhaus or the Panoramarestaurant with its stunning terrace. À la carte, expect around 25 €/person.

Back to Munich

We take the cable car down around 15:30 and catch a train from Lenggries arriving back in Munich by 17:30–18:00.
